how to check Kloxo version of VPS

I had no idea where to find the current Kloxo version of my VPS and Nearly even posted the question at WHT. I’m glad I didn’t because it was right there in Kloxo control panel.

Just click the “Update Home” icon and you have the current Kloxo version your VPS and also the latest Kloxo version available to download.

This is how to check the current Kloxo version of your VPS.

 

 

How to update Kloxo

If you use Kloxo as your control panel of your VPS then you will receive mail from Kloxo site asking you update the Kloxo version. If you are  new to handling VPS and you have a un-managed VPS then you need update Kloxo by your self unlike with a managed VPS where the VPS provider will do all these things.

There are 2 ways to update Kloxo,

  • Goto “General Settings” in Kloxo and enable “Auto Update”.
  • Goto “Update Home” and Click “Update now”.
  • Run “sh /script/update” from SSH.

Auto Update method will be easy for you if you new to Kloxo. Make sure you keep Kloxo updated so your VPS won’t have any loopholes which hackers can exploit. You can see it’s very easy to Upgrade Kloxo to the latest Kloxo version. So if you have this update Kloxo in your mail you can do it now. It won’t take more than 5 minutes.

 

 

 

Read TOS before buying Offshore Hosting

If you want to buy a Offshore hosting account make sure you ask the provider what are allowed and what are not allowed.  Also words are not enough check their Hosting TOS and make sure those are written there too.

Web Hosting Services

Finding the right web hosting service for their websites is one of the biggest problems webmasters experience. High end Web Hosting services can be quite expensive and lower the price get service and up-time become pretty bad.

One important thing is rather the than having one single hosting account its better spread your websites in different small web hosting accounts. That way if one provider start having problems still rest of your sites would be up and running. You would loose less revenue this way than having all sites in same place.

Also when you going to start a web forum, better have a plan how you would manege the site and also site growth. Forums can grow pretty fast and you might need to upgrade your hosting account few times a year. Also shared hosting providers are not happy about using their service for forums. You might not exceed your Bandwidth or space but your forum can eat considerable amount of server resources. Shared hosting is not good at all for forums unless you are using Godaddy or Hostgator shared hosting account. These guys are big and they will handle the load up to a limit which small shared hosting provider unable to do.
